Day 2 7/13/2015

Today was a great day, I met five new people, and they have informed us of forestry and nursery job opportunities. Robert Newey and Nick Swagger told us there are many job openings in the forestry area. Like managing and planting trees. I also learned there is a thing called fuels its thing in the area that can burn based on dryness and how big the object is. They have ways to tell different fuels apart for on the use size, live vs. dead, fine vs. heavy. Rob tells us that many fire fighters are retiring or dyeing that is why they have many job openings. There are five parts to an operation they are operations, logistics, planner, finance, and safety. They have many ways of logistics in how to prepare for a certain type of fire. Where the fire is located? How long the fire has been burning? How severe the fire is?  How big it got during the time it started and to when they get there. What caused the fire and is there people near the fires location. What equipment they need for the fire. What type of habitat the fire is located. How severe the weather conditions are. What type of fuels are in the area? Is there any endangered species of plants or animal? How many forestry staff are in the area? I’ve learned there are different types of fuels , there is 1 hour(less than a quarter inch), 10 hour( quarter inch), 100 hour(1 to 3 inch), 1000 hour(3 to 10 inch), and 10,000 hour( 10 inch and grater). The nursery really striked interest in me. Its is a interesting topic because .
